Application Access from a Web Browser

Overview

The AccessMyLan Web Portal provides a secure and easy way to provide access to internal web-based applications and file shares. Using just a web browser, remote users can access their e-mail, intranet, web applications and file shares without installing any software on the remote system.

The Web Portal is a standard feature of AccessMyLan and can be enabled for all your remote users at no additional cost.

Web Application Access

Any internal web based application can be published to the web portal for access by remote users. The portal has configuration profiles pre-defined for common web applications and can support most well written web applications on any server platform.

File Access

You can securely access any file share on Windows, OSX and Linux servers via the web portal. Any file share published via the portal will be subject to the security settings on the file server and can be augmented by portal settings to restrict access by user, by file and marking a share as read only.

Security

The web Portal can perform an endpoint policy check on the client and based on the results of the check restrict access on a per-application basis. To prevent sensitive content being left in the browser cache, the portal can perform cache cleaning and mark all content as being non-cachable.

The portal removes the requirement to open inbound ports on your firewall reducing the attack surface for would-be hackers. A digital certificate is not required on the internal servers as the Portal enforces SSL encryption on all browser sessions through an AccessMyLan certificate.
